Waldstein 148 baby grand
The new 148 is a welcome addition to our range. The 146 Waldstein has been
one of our top selling pianos for nearly a decade. The new, improved 148
model has now replaced the 146. Built on the same construction principles
that made the 146 a success, the 148 has been created to offer a fuller sound
than is normally associated with a compact grand. The Waldsteins are produced
in the Pearl River factory in China.
Pearl River is universally recognized as the most advanced, most prestigious
and, without doubt, the best of the many Chinese piano manufacturers. Their
association with Steinway and Yamaha (they have produced pianos for both)
is proof enough if it were needed.
Following a visit in 2009 Yorkshire Pianos have worked with Pearl River to
help produce a small grand piano with a tone and dynamic range to match it's
good looks.
Either end of the bass section in a small grand is characteristically "tubby" or
without overtones. Through redesign of the bridge and a slightly longer scale
the new 148 Waldstein overcomes these shortcomings to a very large extent. Despite
its modest stature, it produces a full and rounded sound which sets it apart
from other "baby" grands.

Irmler 161 grand piano
Irmler pianos are designed and made by the Irmler Piano Company of
Germany.
The Irmler line consists of mid-priced European-made grands and verticals
in attractive styles and finishes. All are made to exacting specifications
developed by the Irmler Piano Company and reflect on the company’s
long history of piano-making, which began in the early 1900s. The company
is owned and operated by Dr. Christian and Knut Blüthner-Haessler. The
pianos are constructed in Eastern Europe with German-made components and
parts, with an engineering advantage from Leipzig.
